Think this'll fall apart quick? I was considering getting something like this lasercut on colored acrylic then gluing or using some type of adhesive to stick to a clear sheet.:thumb:

My measurements turn to it being about 1/16" at the thinnest sections.

if it was on a solid base, glued securely, and the base wasnt flexing or contorting at all, then it should be fine, but if it has any "open air" parts (parts that arent backed by something very solid, bits that project into open air) then you may have issues.

Depending on your application, it might be worthwhile to look into vinyl stickers. Even if it can't be laser cut, you could trace the pattern with a razor.

I think you might have trouble if that is adhered to a sheet of clear plexi, since plexi can bend quite well, but one cut that thin won't bend without cracking I would imagine. I can forsee problems. If at all possible I would do it out of metal.

Metal won't really work, unfortunately. Do you think ~1/4" plexi behind is a sturdy enough base? Or should I just look into etching or vinyl stickers?

What about engraving it onto the back of a clear sheet and illuminating with LEDs perhaps. Laser etching would work nicely, if you can get it done.

Yeah, if cutting it out won't work that'll probably be I'll do.

you could always use a stencil and paint it onto the back of the plexi as well. Would hold up just fine I think.
