LCD I own one of these and I kind of forgot about it anyone have any ideas how I could hook that touchscreen LCD and build it into the case? I am horid with electronics but if I had some sort of guide or someone to walk me threw it I could LOL hope this works id rather use this than buy a ps1 lcd
well in hopes to get some sort of reply i figured I would tell you a little more about the pocket PC it runs on windows CE 2.1 and has a 640 x 480 VGA backlit touch screen. thats any thoughts?
in this kind of device the controler for the LCD is going to be totaly intergrated into the rest of the device. this means that the screen wont work without the rest of it. it is probrably possible to get it working indapendently however if you are "horid with electronics" i would steer WELL clear or attempting this kind of mod.
acctualy the thing works fine if I could use the whole pc as a display would be great where can i get those progs? and I have about 6 of these pocket pcs could I use 2 of them on one cpu?
lol I do IT in a drs office they bought them all a few yrs ago and decided not to use them. so they said "take em home"
Kewl, for free? That's a good deal mate. I used to have an old palmtop but the schreen broke when I sat on it
Mattt is correct The screen needs a controller. Which is built into the device. There is no way to run VGA-LCD without a controller. www.earthlcd.com sells controllers, but whether or not that LCD is compatible is anyones guess.
Your best bet is to use a program that uses the PDA as a whole. Basically, the program just emulates it as an xbyx LCD to your Serial/USB port, and then you use any LCD controller program (LCDC, LCDSmartie, there are tons) and you're good to go. I know PalmOrb is for PalmOS based PDA's, but I can't remember the name of the one for WindowsCE
