I'm one day hoping to fully upgrade my system when I have the funds but for now I'm just looking at the graphics part. Here is my problem tho my motherboard is an ASUS M2R32-MVP Which supports upto PCIe 2.0. The card i'm looking at is the Gainward GeForce GTX 560 Ti GOLDEN SAMPLE 1GB. My question is will i see a good improvement graphics wise over my X1950 Pro (cos of my motherboard) and is this a good option to keep for future upgrades at least for a bit. You should also note that I don't play on massive monitors using a 17in at the moment.

Yes you will see a significant frame rate increase. However, you will find you're gonna be CPU/RAM/Board limited due to them being rather old parts now. Oh and the 560Ti is massive overkill for 17inch monitors so you're gonna have to upgade your monitor as well :p

    Yes it will work.

It is also massively overkill for a 17" screen. Not that theres anything wrong with that if you intend on getting a bigger screen at some point.
