Installed SP1... constant network drop outs. Installed latest Realtek ethernet drivers.. made no difference. Every minute or so, the ethernet connection just stops. All was fine until I installed SP1, and now I've got no usable network connection. Any ideas?
I've just had the very same problem not 30 mins ago after installing SP1. All I done was to disconnect/leave my own network and then create a new connection, reboot .....Solved
Do as bulldogjeff said. I restarted my router as well. It only affected my laptop wireless. My desktop, and mother, father, brothers comp works perfectly.
It is if you can't fix it! Done as bulldogjeff suggested.. still got very intermittent network. It's basically unusable.
When you re-installed your network drivers, did you uninstall the old ones and restart you computer, THEN install the latest ones? Does your computer have a second Network card. If so, can you enable it, and try to use it.
Uninstalled... cleaned up registry.. removed all traces, then re-installed the latest Realtek drivers. It makes no difference which ethernet socket I connect to. I have no other NIC card.
I use the Realtek driver from Gigabyte website on my desktop, try those. You can uninstall Windows 7 SP1 for now, but I recommend looking into it... as you and I have the same motherboard (well the UD5), but all internal components are identical. So it's clearly something on your side that screwed SP1 install.
For the massive improvements??? I only did it for the sake of having sp1. Can't see anything that would really make my life THAT much easier but hey.
Nope.. you're absolutely right... but there's a principle involved now! I hate **** not working for no explicable reason!
Opps I forgot that I restarted the router as well. It might be coincidence that we are both on UD3's but there's the chance that your internet connection might be playing up, mine was for a while, but that affected every one in the house not just me. Try restoring to before you put SP1 on and see if that helps, if it does at least you can pin the problem down and rule out any network probs. P.S I hate the UD3, it's given me nothing but agro for the last few months, it's going to be replaced and binned pretty soon.
The reason why I didn't take the UD3R, was that I got scared when I learned that it was a deeply cut down UD7 model, and the offer was too good to be true. I went with the UD5. Works fantastically. Well the USB recharge thingy didn't play well with my Zune 120.. but I don't blame them, who uses a Zune anyway.... heck it's only sold in the U.S. Beside I don't care. My Zune 120 is 3 years old, and despite having it's battery life drop a lot, I still recharge it once every 2 week (compared to once a month when it was new).
Similar thing happened to me when I upgraded to the latest realtek drivers a while back. Uninstalled them and put 7.26.902.2010 (or 7.026.0902.2010) back on and now it works fine.
Things like this are why I haven't installed the SP1. Nor will I be until I'm positive it won't brick my system.
