    Here it goes:

    1. My sys is missing it's boot.ini file (that what it sais just before loadin OS)
    How do I fix that?
    Step-by-step please.

    2. I got some damn bug that's installed itself in my IE directory (I'm on OPERA now, but it still re-directs me to stupid search pages :grrr: , flushing it out manually does'nt give any effects, neither do 10AV programs (Norton AV, SbyBot, Ad-Aware........)
    Again, a step-by-step guide to overwriting the Win Directory will be apreciated.

    Cheers,
    Mike

    Try booting off the XP cd and messing around with the automated recovery stuff. I got that to work well enough for me once. If you don't have any luck there, reinstall right over the old copy and it should just replace all of the files but your "my docs" and whatnot should stay intact.

    Code:
    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn

    That's whats in my boot.ini. If you can get into safemode or something, or at least some sort of semi-DOS where you can create a new file (using EDIT or something old school like that), just give that a try. c:\boot.ini
