I'm running Windows 2000 SP2, for some reason whenever I have Winamp 5 and Photoshop 6 open at the same time, the whole system becomes unstable. Anyone have any explanation for this or knows how to fix it?

256 of pc2100, crap I know but I can't afford to upgrade right now :(

Always worked fine when I was running XP though, it's only since I installed 2k that it's started playing up. Plus it happens even when I have winamp on classic mode.

Can be anything from Winamp crashing, to the entire machine crashing when I change tracks, it's not always the same. Is quite weird.

Id go with Mikey on this one. Im running XP Pro, and doing anything else when Photoshop is on is a major no-no.
Ive got 512MB and even that aint enough for Adobe's memory hog sometimes.

btw, if you visit Crucial's site, I believe 256MB stick of ram will cost u under £30 at the moment. Not much of an investment, and it might cure yr probs a little.

which release of winamp 5 is it ?

5.02 was really bad on my gaming box and laptop both ...

5.03 is really stable ... might just need to update ...

or go to oldversion.com and get a version like 2.83 or before.

That's weird, because i thought all versions of winamps 2 and 5 have been rather good (had a few). Maybe it's just XP being a total woman as usual?

As for windows 2000, update to service pack 4 - that usually solves some of the strange problems i've had with software, it's free as well, so there's no reason not to do it...
