Electronics winamp keypad

does anyone have a diagram for a 15 button winamp keypad that can be used with the winamp plugin available here? The keypad is supposed to interface serially, but i see no schematics of the actual circuits on the site, just pictures of other peoples' keypads

Here's a box I made using Com'on for winamp.

 

what do the LEDs do?

 

The two led's are connected to the same LED feed so when the the green led goes on the the red one geos off etc etc.

When it's playing the green led goes on.

When it stop's the Red one goes on.

And when its paused the flashe in sequence.

 

cool, i'm working on a circuit board right now for my keypad...i'm pretty bad at it though. It's taking me forever to get a good etch for the 15-button circuit. If anyone knows of a better way to do it than using express PCB please let me know

on the circuit boards, the yellow trace is just for reference, in order to not cross any traces, I'm going to connect those with wires. the yellow diodes are all going to be 1n4148 diodes. The two rows of 15 pads will be where i solder the leads for the buttons to. If i can't etch these well, I'll probably end up connecting them all with wires onto some perfboard.

No status indicators?, an LCD would be nice

 

I'm going to have a 4x20 LCD connected to the parallel port

 

Nice ive just secured a 2x16 that will be gettin wedged into mine.

 

both the LCD and the keypad will be on the front of the HTPC i am building atm. I'm keeping a worklog over at pheaton...but i'll post final pics here too i'm sure

 

That would be sweet.

My original idea was to place the winamp button's into my front room light switch alomg with an lcd and allow mood settings from there but i never got round to doing it, I might give it a whirl in a fw weeks time.

 

hrmm, i realized how NOT fun etching this would be...maybe fun isn't the word, but anyway I'm gonna do the whole thing up with wires, and use terminal strips for the leads to the switches for the front
