Ok i have the Antec Performance I p180, And i read that the side panels are insolated with something to keep the noise from the inside of the case down. The thing is i want a window on the side panel and maybe the top. Would it be a bad idea to cut into these side panels because of the insolation or would it not effect anything? Or should i just go out and buy a different case to mod?
As i am not a advance modder i have no idea but i assume it should be just fine! bc like i cut throw pleanty of cases and they are just fine! and they are by antec! If you were a lazzy modder you wouldent do it
???? No, the case is multilayered, UNLIKE every case Ive ever seen or heard of. If he cuts through it it will probably make the case a lot louder, and won't look so good unless its covered around the edges, because youll be able to see into the inside of the panel. Well, maybe if you put LEDs inside the panel and lit it up, it would look cool. Yeah, do that, it would look pretty sweet.
Well i was going to put a window in and put window modling around it that rubber stuff. So i dont think that you would be able to know see the different layers of it. But i dont know if i should do it with this case its not like its cheap or anything so i dont know if i should get another cheaper case and do it.
You could definitely do it. I think it would still look fine and wouldn't cause any real problems. I just think that your case would probably become more noisy due to the thinness of the plexi compared to the thickness of the layered panel. Just make sure the rubber locking strip that goes around the window can fit, it may be too thin to get across the layers. You don't need the strip though, you can do a normal window where you just drill holes and bolt the panel in place, or glue it. You could then put some sort of rubber thing around the edges of the cut to make it clean, but the rubber would be just for asthetics and wouldn't have to do anything (like hold the window in as with the other stuff.) i wouldnt do it. p180 is silent because of its specially layered side panels....add a windows and it'll be just as loud as any other case. Buy a different case and mod it, leave the 180 alone...its silent and beautiful...better still sell it to me
I concur. All I said was that it could be done, and stated several times that it would make it louder. I suggest you don't do it though, and get a different case to hack up. The P180 is beautiful in its simplicity and minimalisation, best left like that.
Yeah that is true the case is really cool the way it is. I just like the window lok but i have had some idea changes which would take more than just a window to work with so im going to go out and buy a different cheaper case.
