I am having some trouble with the network on the windows 2003 server. I am able see the server on the network neighborhood from a client pc. I am able to also go into folders from the server. I though am unable to add a computer to a domain, find the domain and unable to go into a folder through the network neighborhood. It would say that I do not have the rights or access to look in there, even though I set it for everybody to see inside the folder. I am thinking maybe I didn't set my WINS correctly but I need some advice to see what else it can be or help with my WINS setting. Thanks

it sounds to me like you have a dns issue, have you installed dns correctly and does netdiag / dcdiag produce any fails?

Ok i just did some test and my NSLOOKUP does not work correctly. It goes to 192.168.1.1 and the server is 192.168.1.112. I tried a couple things to maybe change this but I am just shooting in the dark now. People told me NSLOOKUP is a sure test that I setup the DNS correctly.

Ok i figured it out. The server has dual ethernet ports. BUT one is not plugged in. So what I did was disable the one not being used and reinstalled the DNS, WINS, and Domain Controller. Now it works!!
