I've several issues with Win7, ranging from the annoying to the downright deal-breaking. To my knowledge, none of those issues has been dealt with.

Just did a windows update, and now running service pack1.

Strangely after all theese updates and years of my life, still dont seem anywhere near as good or stable as my old Amiga 20 year old OS.

    Oh well,

    Greetings!

Dont forget to use the Disk Cleanup tool to remove the SP backup files.
That will make the SP permanent on your machine and recover some GB, quite useful for SSDs owners.

That's because Windows 7 has a hundred services running, 30 3rd party drivers to handle, multiple IO over multiple socket and signal types and several million lines of code. Your Amiga had a keyboard and a floppy drive and perhaps a thousand lines of code.

So, I had to do a reinstall after trying to update to SP1.

It was actually faster to reinstall Windows, then install SP1 and all my programmes than to try and just update.

    Ooooh, burn! :D

Actually the Amiga did an awful lot more than that, and some of the later versions of the OS were incredibly sophisticated. Video Toaster anyone?

But, yes, your main point stands: Windows 7 is an awful lot more complicated and doing an awful lot more work ;).
