I'm looking out for a cheap way to get a legal version of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and found a site via Google that looks either too good to be true or just truly good! The site is Software-tech.net, anyone heard about it before or bought anything at it?? They sell Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit image files for download at $130...
But thats just a key, I want the real deal on a disc - if I have to burn the disc myself thats also ok
Just download it from anywhere. Can you download it as a trial? A key is a key... It's the key you are purchasing, not the software.
Software for students has it really good price, might be professional not business mind, both download and disc and you don't (theoretically) need to be a student...although I am
The e-mail on the paypal is a hotmail so i would strongly advise against this. The hotmail address is unitedkings@hotmail.com which seems to have no reference with the business
Ok now when I think about it that makes good sense.. Is TradeUnited trustworthy/cheap or any better/cheaper place to get a genuine key?
Thats just how I am... Beside that, it looks very difficult to find a cheap legit product key anywere hmm
tradeunited I cannot see anyone ever mentioned them on the net except for you. I would not trust them at all. "About us/Contact us" doesn't mention any address, or contact information. E-mail doesn't count. Website name is also written as "trade united", which suggest also false retailer. In addition, the only product they have (minus the lonely earphones, which will probably be a Chinese rip-off), is popular pirated software, mainly popular Adobe software exclusively, and Windows. Adobe sales suits and retails that sale Adobe software sales ALL their software. Not just some. Windows Enterprise box isn't an official box art of Microsoft, and you can see that the show of the box is red, suggesting the person that edited the box, just took another edition of Windows, played with the Hue, and edited the text.
Agree with Rich and Goodbytes - the fact that you can't even read the "Terms & Conditions" on that website is enough to put me off... My advice: date or marry somebody who works in education, and you'll get Win7 x64 Ultimate (and Office 2010) for £6.50 like I did, totally legit.
I get it... Its fake... I actually have my wifes Windows 7 Ultimate disc laying around, just need a key as someone suggested here - anywere I can find a legit key for cheap??
Just out of curiosity, how does that education discount work and were to get it? (and is there any downsides from it?)
As for Software-tech.net, the domain name is registered in Germany. And registered with the e-mail domain with FXmail, which a Russian e-mail service, and servers are found in Netherlands. Can it be more fishy?
@ AT0MAC - I was being partly facetious, but I'll entertain your questions Microsoft had some arrangement with our city council which endowed ALL council employess (my wife, a teacher, being one) with the opportunity to buy Windows 7 Ultimate Retail and Office 2010 for £6.50 each. Suffice to say, we jumped on that offer and I have both on our home (my work) PC. I very much doubt you can simply "get" a discount of any kind... your best bet of buying cheap is to get OEM, which tbh at £80 or so is pretty good IMO (but people have differing opinions). If there is one piece of software that is not grotesquely overpriced, it's Windows7 HP.
In Canada, you get it from a Microosft partner website. You get an ISO image (unless you are willing to pay extra and shipping for the disk), and the license is Windows 7 Pro Upgrade edition, it follow the retail licenses. No additional terms & conditions. You need to be a student with a a valid school e-mail address.
OK I give up... Just send some email, to Microsoft US, Microsoft DK and the 4 biggest Microsoft partners in DK - if any of them want to sell 1 extra license key I should know it soon. Thanks anyway guys, you did your best
I agree with deathtaker27 and I would categorically NOT send any money to whoever is operating this website, the website is VERY sparse and could easily have been thrown up in a matter of hours to make a few bob for the owner. Seriously Windows 7 Ultimate for £20 even students can't get it that cheap! STEER CLEAR I say
AoE mentioned TradeUnited's "offer" (unprompted and inappropriately IMHO) in the Hardware Bargains thread - I'm copying my post here in case others find the information useful: It almost certainly isn't - they're selling Win 7 Ultimate for just £20 when the cheapest price elsewhere is £135 and they're offering the key only. If you check Microsoft's How to Tell: Digital Downloads page, keys are only available from the Microsoft store or (Microsoft operated) student deal sites. Anyone who's purchased from this site can have their licence validity checked via the Counterfeit Software Report page (you may receive a replacement licence from MS if confirmed illegitimate). As for the site itself, a Network Lookup shows: Results returned from whois.nic.uk: Domain name: tradeunited.co.uk Registrant: FAHAD SHAH Trading as: TradeUnited Registrant type: UK Individual Registrant's address: 73 MORNINGTON STREET LEICESTER Leicestershire LE5 3NG United Kingdom Registrar: Ekm Systems Ltd t/a Ekm Systems Ltd [Tag = EKMSYSTEMS] URL: http://www.ekmsystems.co.uk Relevant dates: Registered on: 27-Aug-2009 Renewal date: 27-Aug-2013 Last updated: 02-Oct-2011 So this is a fairly new website run by one individual trading under a different name, not a company (though there is a TradeUnited Ltd based in Manchester, it probably has nothing to do with this and Ekm Systems is just the registrar for the domain). In other words, buy at your own risk.
