I've edited the idiots post above to remove the spamming links, what's with whoever it is being able to register with several nicks and posting once just to spam the links he has in his signature on this site!, Can't it/he be stopped?

Now back on topic, I have the 64 Bit Professional version and it runs perfectly, great stuff :thumb:

Professional 64bit for me... It was the same price as HP on the student offer site if you found the very inconspicuous link :D

Ultimate x86 (missed 32-bit option on poll,)

Sounds like someone is throwing their toys out of the pram just because they can't afford something :p

Home 64. Having come from XP I must admit that it all looks very pretty :)

Professional 64bit. But only because it was free through MSDNAA. Otherwise, I'd of been sticking with Vista Ultimate 64bit for a fair while.

actually its 0.7 GB of RAM, task manager is showing 3,3GB :p

i had a crazy idea going 64- bit and getting 8 GB of RAM once but then i realised i won't max out the 4 GB(or 3.3 Gb) that i have now anyway...

Eh, you can easily max out 4GB.

There'll be more room for caching things. I find 64bit is faster in general than 32bit.

Just looked in task manager in win7 and I've actually got 2GiB free, with 912MiB cached, but in Vista, I would almost always see 10MB or less free, because superfetch was using it all.
Myabe Vista's way of reporting the available RAM and stuff wasn't very accurate so they made win7 task manager better??

Pro 64-bit. I didn't think Ultimate was worth the money this time around.

Ultimate edition would be a waist of money, as bit-drive encryption requires a TMP chip which your motherboard does not have. And I don't think you care about all language support.

Professional is Ultimate edition without bit-drive encryption and multiple language support.

Ultimate 32-bit (pirated) because I'm testing it on my sempron, hoping to get a 64-bit copy of professional with the student offer though :)

I love it when people try to justify pirating products.

No you misunderstand, I'm testing it to see if it's any good and if I like it. The testing is to justify 32-bit as my sempron is before the athlon 64. I would've pirated it regardless, the only reason I'm considering buying it is because it's £30 :p

I AM a pirate through and through, you won't get any pirating to test from me apart from certain PC games that don't have a demo :) But hey at least I'm honest about it.

didnt want to pay the extra just to have another copy of XP (XP mode) as i have loads of spare copies of XP floating around therefore if ever i need to use XP again (and thats unlikely) then i will dual boot.

    Home premium 64 bit.

Why waste money on anything else,

Unlimate (unless its for free), is for those who have more money than sense.

Profesional, xp mode?. I can download VMware for free and use my old XP licence. Why spend the extra ?

    Contradict much?
