Hello, I have scoured the internet for a solution to this problem, you guys are my last hope!

At work recently I was given another computer (so now I have two) which is Windows 8.1

I am unable to change the keyboard layout to UK - it's stuck in US layout. I have found the settings in control panel and changed it all to apparently the correct region, but it doesn't work.

Even worse than that, my Windows 7 machine is now also stuck in US keyboard layout! Again, I have been to control panel and made sure all the settings are UK and they are.

Anyone had any experience of this? It's driving me nuts.

    Thanks

What settings did you change? Once you add a language in the Language setting in Control Panel, make sure that the preferred language is at the top of the list --that will be your dafault.

Moreover, in Language --> Advanced Settings make sure that the "Override for default input method" is set to: "Use language list".
