    Greetings!
    So we agree here.
It is not. It also is not a replacement for KB+M.
What are you talking about? And how does it connects remotely with the post you quoted?!
You can create a shortcut and\or a tile for that.

Uglier than Start Screen but with the ability to run Metro apps in windows.

Actually, for the computer tasks that most people use computers for, it is better than a KB+M. That's my whole point: it depends on the application.

Microsoft alludes to this by trying to offer everything in Surface and Windows 8: keyboard, mouse and touch. Pick the best input method for your specific use.

As I have said countless times before

Windows phone 8 is totally separated from the windows 8 Eco system but everyone on here has been saying it does not matter. As you can make apps for all 4 with a touch of a button. Which is great but does not affect video or film.

Well the above post shows its a concern for consumers.

Thanks a lot Nexxo. My domain name is nvgpupro.com.
I also use tinyURL (I don't think its blocked, but just in case it is now), as I want to separate my site/software with the forum, as posts here aren't related. Google tends to get ideas.

Does anyone else have a Win8 phone? Mine has started to show all of my music on my PC on my phone but it wants me to stream the stuff that I don't actually have on the handset.

How do I stop it doing this? I only want to see the artists that I actually have on there.

    If anyone is interested.
I found this new app (I haven't tried it thought), called PinStart, its 1.50$, and it allows you pin Steam games with game picture on your start screen.

Here is a screen shot of what it can do: http://felizk.dk/wp/wp-content/uploads/ScreenShot3.png

    @Windows 8 Using BIOS-Based Product keys:
OEM license of Windows Vista, 7 and 8 are not transferable to another computer. Nothing is new. Windows 8 feature a nice button that when pressed, it will re-install Windows 8 to either clean original state, or last image done done by you or OEM.

If your motherboard dies, the OEM will give you a new motherboard. System Builder edition of Windows 8 does not equal OEM. You have a product key on the System Builder boxes.

    @0 Surface sold claim.
It's just some guy who look at a specific Microsoft store for 2 hours, and concluded based on people he asked and wanted to be talk to him, if they bought a Surface. So yea... false!

Does it have any icons to tell you? Doesn't it only download them over Wi-Fi?

Also Windows phone 8 will get a nice update soon. The update is called Apollo Plus.

Surface is not selling well we get that but 0 sounds rather unlikely. Standing outside of the microsoft store bugging people for info i know my first words would be.

I hate been asked to fill in stupid surveys.

windows 8 internet survey i guess is based on the same tablet one that ive read before that apples ipad gets like 80% of all web hits in tablet space.

Personally id take any survey with a pinch of salt, until MS release some figures to match.

No surface sales numbers have been released that im aware off.
4million downloads of windows 8 were the released figure ive seen, but they dont include actual shop sales.

Unless it's some stellar, completely unexpected numbers, Microsoft doesn't release any numbers.

We all know that Windows 8 will have a very slow adoption rate. Windows 9 will be strong (plus businesses should be going with it, at it's med/end life, like Windows 7).

I think that the problem with the Surface problem is that it tries to complete with a very mature Apple product. Limited availability and no exclusive ads for it doesn't help.
I believe that the Surface could have been much more successful, if they kept the Beta tag on Office splash screen so that everyone knows it's still in Beta. This would have solved many critics from reviewers. And drop the price by 100$ and include the touch cover. Especially that Google is being ultra aggressive (desperate?) with their Android tablet. Soon they'll sale them at complete loss. Also it didn't help that Microsoft didn't give to big developer the Surface RT early so that they can test and fix all performance issues with the device.

The hardware of the Surface has been shown to be superb quality, and Microsoft showed that it can be very innovative like Apple in the old days. OS is great. Is it super polished? No, I mean Windows 7 hurt Microsoft, as Win7 was very well polished. Windows 8 didn't have the time to pass through such treatment, and also on many things Microsoft can't improve things until they have actual user data which they collect form users (unless everyone disables the Windows experience program).

I am sure there is a disable button. I wonder if you make your account on your PC as local (if not already), if it disables this.

    As usual, you are right!

There is one app that I cannot buy... board express pro, every time it comes up with an error, 805a01f4. I can buy other apps but not this one, fails on my PC too.

Been failing for a week now.

Another article where the idiot doesn't even bothered reading about the licencing changes.

OEM is a huge hardware manufacturer only. There is a minor confusion because the retail boxes are usually labeled OEM too, but that labeling is wrong - if you buy something in shop, then it is a System Builder version. Not OEM.

Summarized, there are the following Windows 8 versions :
    - upgrade - you buy it in shop; full, transferable licence, requires XP/Vista/7
    - personal use licence - you buy a system builder version in shop, but you get additional rights thanks to the personal use licence, which is of course limited to subset of customers; full, transferable licence
    - system builder version - you buy a system builder version in shop and you are not eligible for personal use licence
    - OEM version - you cannot buy this one, you can get it only from big manufacturers like Lenovo/HP/Dell/Acer/Asus/etc. This is the version the article talks about.

In short, nothing to see here, move along.

as I understand it, OEM machines will still have a certificate of authenticity, but they won't have product keys on them
