Every so often, or almost every day, the computer will hang, then an error message will come up saying that windows explorer has stopped working. Nothing happens after this point and I need to press the reset button on the tower.

Almost every day I need to press the reset shortly after start up. Does anyone know what's going on? I've tried searching and there's been a few suggestions of what to look for or do but nothing is helping.

    Thanks in advance.

The event log should provide more details on what's causing explorer to crash, something like faulting module...

It could be something in the context menu causing it to hang. I remember the Nvidia Control Panel used to cause this.

Give ShellMenuView a go and disable shell extensions. can't guarantee it'll work but give you another avenue.
