    hi guys

i decided to try out windows 7 on the weekend but i have come across a problem with the installation. i installed Windows to a freshly formatted HD. it seemed to install correctly but when the machine rebooted the final time, i had a black screen with windows 7 written in the bottom corner

i rebooted and tried to go in to safe mode but i had a error saying that windows could not be stared for the first time in safe mode.

    bummer

i think my PC may not be up to specifications. i have the following:

    2 gb ram
    GA-965P-DS3
    Intel Pentium 805
    ATI x500

    can you guys please help

    thanks

I think that your GPU should'nt be the problem... (W7 can always just disable the aero features, which would basically make it the same as XP)

I would imagine that you RAM could be playing a part in this isuue,

try leaving just one stick of RAM in, then see if it works, if not, then try swapping that with another stick to see if you RAM could be the problem...

    Good Luck! :thumb:

I'm sorry to say that I think it's the GFX card. Windows 7 seems to be a bit fussy about which cards to run. Until the driver releases improve you might have to wait.
