Right. So I've a Samsung Blackjack II (sold as the Jack via Rogers) and despite getting video which is encoded to WMV (via River Past Crazi Video) to play, I get no audio. So I was wondering if I had alternatives in media players / encoders, as well as what apps I could use (free, or paid via the net, but without a monthly, if possible) to utilize the inbuilt GPS. Along with that, things like an IRC would be grand, If I could find / figure out how to install them :-\
Hi, I have Imate JAmi-in smart phone which I recently upgraded from windows mobile 5 to windows mobile 6.1. I did this even though I am an utter noob with smart phones!!! A good website to visit is www.xda-developers.com, although this website focuses specifically on phones made by HTC. I believe windows mobile programs are in two flavours, CAB files and EXE files. First of all you have sync up the PDA/Smartphone to your pc using windows activesync, and then the exe files are run in windows (the program is automaticaly installed on your pda) and then by following the on screen pda prompts. The cab files are transfered onto the cab files onto the PDA using my computer. You must then click on the cab files on the pda OS to install it. I just learned this other day! My knowledge is limitless!! I am the google master . . .
try http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/ for a media player for encoding i just used the official MS windows media encoder google or live maps are the only decent free option for gps stuff but they do use your internet connection and you can rack up quite a lot of bandwidth if you're not careful TomTom etc are all paid for but you can find them if you know where to look http://pocketirc.com/ irc another vote for xda-developers too, so much stuff on there you wouldnt believe the library of 3rd party apps for WM is vast, mostly things that solve the shitty UI in default WM
