Installed Win XP Profession on my 500 Mhz 192 MB RAM, 6 GB Storage Toshiba Satellite 2715XDVD Laptop (clean install) - been running it non-stop for over a week now ... Never crashed once even when i run a lot of programs all at the same time (even with my low RAM)

I find it really quite stable, 1st year of Uni I ran my FTP server under either 98/ME and was rebooting every few hours, 2nd year of Uni (which I shouldn't have been on campus, but never mind) I was running XP Pro and it just ran and ran until I switched the puter off to move it places, I came back after 3 weeks of easter and settled down to watch the pile of DivX eps that had been uploaded, struck me as quite cool, :)

It has some irregularities which can be a bit frustrating, but I'm assuming they will be fixed in a SP release.

XP used to be stable till I upgraded my VIA 4 in 1s to the 40 ones.

Im going back to the 38 ones cos my windows xp never crashed b4 that for nearly a year.

Windows XP used to crash a lot for me. Restarted by itself for no apparent reason.

Do you get a "system has recovered from a serious error" message a lot? There's a patch for it on windows.com.

With me it turned out to be a harware problem, and several hours of annoying hold music later, I managed to get the manufacturers to fix it. Now I have no problems at all, I'm even getting used to the stupid layout.

i get this a lot whenever i open up kazaa

this as i found out is supposed to be a conflict between kazaa and any anti-virus program using the file "wbhook32.dll".

the way to fix this is to get kazaa lite and remove all the **** u get with it.

    ne1 else get this ?
