Jeez that's friendly. Welcome to the boards, lowfatsalads. And here's me trying to be sympathetic.

I have a custom avatar/title because I spoke nicely to an admin, but if you're gonna get huffy I'll ask him to remove it.

Don't wanna upset people, just here for a bit of advice and a chat.

LOL I remember that system has recoverd from a serious error thingy that used to pop up for no reason at all when u ist started the machine .

I done all windows xp updtaes now except for the .net server thingy cos Im not sure whether I need it or not.

Im wating patiently for service pack one to come out (not the beta one).

Its a longshot but hopefully Microsoft will sort a lot of stuff with XP out.

If not all us Xp users will be "Beta' Test this version which will probably make its own problems again LOL

In the few weeks I've been using WinXP it's never crashed on me but has thrown up a number of error messages. It's seems it's touch and go whether or not it's compatable with older versions of software which work under Win 95 / 98.

the only reason that message *used* to come up for me was because i disabled it from automatically restarting so i cud get a screenie of it.

I installed WinXP as an update originally (despite good advice not to) I reinstalled as a clean install early last February (over 7 months) and no trouble whatsoever.
