okay, so I'm trying to get wine running without a windows partition... Code: bash-2.05a# wine crazygame.exe Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A: Could not stat /c (No such file or directory), ignoring drive C: Could not stat /cdrom (No such file or directory), ignoring drive D: Invalid path L"c:\\windows" for L"windows" directory: does not exist Perhaps you have not properly edited or created your Wine configuration file. This is (supposed to be) '/root/.wine/config' That's what I get...
Hmmm... I used to hate Wine with a vengence, but I found this site: http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=2 and followed the instructions on reinstalling wine (a really nice thing to do since wine is sometime not installed correctly *cough*Mandrake*cough*). The fresh install actually allowed me to run a windows-only freeware game that I enjoyed playing, but it ran at about 1fps with no input (hey, it uses DX8, so I was surpised that it even ran). I now use it to run various small freeware games that I play with friends. Anyways, follow the instructions closely, and things should work out... PS. reply if you have any problems.
Hmmm... good question... from what I gather from the Slackware website, there is a command line tool called "pkgtool", from there you can go to the section "Remove packages that are currently installed" and see what you have currently installed.
rpm2tgz converts rpms to tgz format, then u can extract them... Paste your wine config in here if you're still stuck although I've noticed the post is quite old so you've probably worked it out by now or have lost all your hair
