    Help,

PC was working fine till last night. I switch on the PC starts up, gets to the windows loading screen then blanks and reboots and does it all over again.

It tells me it didnt load and Ive tried all the options (safe mode, last known good settings etc) and it does the same thing.

I am running 2xSATA Maxtor 120GB in RAID Stripped mode. I have plugged in my old ATA drive and set that as the boot drive and then run a virus scan on all drives and nothing detected. I then ran the tools. -> check disk for errors. with nothing found.

When I set back to SATA drive - load and reboot.

Also tried running recovery from WinXP Home cd and still the same problem.

Please any ideas? is this the disks? is it a virus? am I screwed and going to have to reformat and start again?

    Just to add details

Im running a 2600XP Thoroughbred on an Abit KD7-S mobo.

512MB ram and have a fairly new graphics card Sapphire 9600pro fireblade edition which replaced the non fireblade edition of the same card.

Could this error be caused by the graphics card? Could this be faulty?

In my experiance SATA interfaces don't like the PCI bus running at any thing but standard, with the latest drivers.

But having said that, I experienced the same problem recently and it was caused by the RAM running too fast.

Not sure if/how Ive tampered with the PCI bus.

Am running everything at stock CPU/Memory etc. Have only used the redline tool for Medal of Honour only.

Have not changed the graphics cards settings in any other way

Looks like a format and rebuild then

Well I have disk'd and started again.

Hopefully this wont occur again. Have searched deja news and all sorts and found loads of people have had the same issue but no one found a resolution bar to fdisk
