Hi people does anyone know how to wire up a laptops LCD screen to a vga output on your pc? I just cant work it out. What i want is to mount the old screen in plexi the laptops LCD screen make is sharp, that is all i know about it. it is from a very old laptop. i want to be ablt to plug the screen in and make it show what i would normaly see with my monitor. DOSE ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DO THIS any help needed thanks chris
yes, i do know how to do this,, you will need to buy yourself a controller for the LCD. for this. it is usually prohibitively expensive however, costing around £200 for the controller. you see, in a huuge 60" LCD screen it is not the screen itself which is expensive (though it will have a premium), it is in fact the controller that is the expensive part, with all the packaging that goes with it. you would quite honestly be better off buying yourself a standard 17" screen
It's a sticky!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! A STICKY!! Not exactly obvious, but it's under the common questions. Sorry, it's been asked a bunch lately. But yeh, more than likely a controller board will be necessary, unless you can get some numbers on the thing and access a datasheet for it... the datasheet may have info on VGA signals and such.
