ive got some laptops that have had numerous wireless cards shoved in them repeatedly time and time again and bless the little laptops they have got very confused and we are now upto wireless connection number 6/7 on each of them as each new wireless card obviously creates a new connection.

my question is, is there an easy way to make the laptops forget they have ever had a wireless card installed so i can re-install just the one??

obviously i can remove the device but this is only for the currently plugged in wireless card i want to make the laptop forget it's ever had any other wireless cards and thus reset the connection count to 0.

these laptops will be rebuilt in a couple of months when there is more time so a quick fix is fine!

    cheers!

Go to Network Connections, right click on the Connection, and rename it.

while logged on as administrator or someone with those privs
right click my computer go manage
    click on device manager
chose the view menu item click "show hidden devices"

then head down to the network adaptors area and remove the ones that arnt there any more
