Hi, my wireless PCI card recently broke and I'm in need of a new card. I'm using windows vista and windows 7 so I need one compatible with Vista and 7, both in 64-bit. Any suggestions? Looking for a reliable card with WPA2 support. Thanks.

does it have to be PCI ?

if not the best one ive found and used alot is the Abit Airpace 54mbps.

its a beast has postional antenna and works in vista and 7 64-bit.

although for windows 7 u have to use the atheros built in drivers not the manufacturer ones.

Thanks, i'll check when I get home cause my graphics card is quite big and takes up a PCI-E slot.

I have an Edimax wireless N card. It's very good and has 3 positional antennae so you get good range (or at least I do with my router, also Edimax).

Much recommended card, unfortunately I can't remember the name of it but I'm prett sure it was bought from Amazon (birthday present).

    +1 on the Abit Airpace.

Been using mine for 6 months and it's rock solid, it's never dropped out on me.
FYI, it's PCI-E x1 card, but can be used in a 4x, 8x or 16x for that matter, so whatever you have going spare. I have mine in a 4 xslot.

My experience, Win 7 x64 found and installed the driver automatically, however, with Vista x64 you need to install the bundled software/driver, then manually update the driver through Device Manager by pointing windows in the direction of windows/system32. The only way I could make it work, and a quite a few others had the same problem, but that's no great shakes, IMO.

All in all, it's fantastic card, with the added bonus of the external antenna, with plenty of cable.

    BT did a review.
