Give the gold star to Yo-DUH_87 Very right you are, coilng the wire will create inductance, In any event it will change the effective length of the antenna lead. I was digging through a parts bin looking for a cap to replace one that blew up in an old parallel port cd drive... one must have rolled off my bench and into my post. As a side note there is also an element of capacitve reactance but in this application impedance matching will not be an issue since RF power levels are so low. Way too involved for this thread, that and trying to remember all those formula's makes my head bleed.

Well it used to work at 4x... after taking her apart i found it was a standard 4x IDE drive mounted into another box with a with a pcb that connects to the drive and i guess converts to parallel... power distribution and all that jazz. 4700uf cap blew up into the purtiest flower petal shape... trouble now the only cap at that rating is 3 times the size and won't fit into the space.. .thought things were supposed to get smaller with time???? Oh well... Relix hurry up and post something about your project! before we either bleed to death or get sensored right out of this thread

OOh OOh this is a sweet idea... what about extending this idea... how big of a tx/rx rate would you need to take it the next step? Next step being a LCD PANEL .. Think about a dockable to case, lil lcd, screen that you could take as a portable display.. or even a portable touch panel lcd that you could use as a winamp remote and tabletpc extension for your machine... Am i thinking too crazy or does this sound cool to anyone else??
it sounds cool, it definetly does, but for that I would need a 2400Mhz tx/rx (the one used for wirelless networks as bluethooth and stuff) (ask SaxGod, he told me everything about RF, he's a real RF fanatic ) and I haven't found such a tx/rx yet...

lol, right, flemish = dutch, only slightly differint pronounced with other words, it's a dialect!!!!!111 (for once and for all ) and Afrikaans is just a "sublanguage" from dutch which is very similar only some slight grammatical differinces in other words, whoever talks dutch, can speak flemish and afrikaans too
Back to the topic at hand... I recently came across a Serial to Blue Tooth converter... I might have to get one to "test" with.. ya... that's it....
