My dad finally said he hates the wires running around the house so he wants to look into a wireless network. I can deal with computer parts and deal witha car parts but i really will never understand wireless network parts. So here comes the question i need help finding what hardware to use.

What i want to do is have a wireless connection thoughout the house(the house is 2 story old homes connection should be able to reach everthing. My sisters have laptops and my dad will soon i think but they dont need a very good connection so they dont matter right now. My dads comp i think i will setup the router near him so i can just plug the thing in to a ethernet port on the router. My room is where everything basically is though. I have 2 comps and 2 game systmes they all dont need to be plugged in at same time but i need atlest like 3 connections in my room. I was thinking something like an access point hooked up to a switch, i think that would work fine.

I play alot of online games and i hate when people lag so i dont want to lag myself so this connection needs to be good somthing around wired or atlest a connection fast enough to play games without problems. My room is the only area really needed omega speed so hey. My family doesnt do any streaming of video or anything but i wouldnt mind having the connection to maybe send an HTPC connection thoughtout the house for like storage of DVD's and stuff but like i said ofr later times.

Basically all i need help with is what gear to get like i said im a noob when it comes to wireless networks.

Sry if my punctuation is bad(i know it is) but that is the part in school where i always mess up.

Best option would be to just leave your room wired up and just wirelessly link the rest of the house assuming that the net connection is based in your room...Then you would just need to have an access point (AP) hooked up to your router like another computer.

Wow such simple things we people overthink. That is a really easy fix then i wouldnt have to buy uber expensive equipment i could just get regular 54 bit stuff (cheaper YES) and i could still have just as good of a connection. Thanks alot.
