Heres the situation. I work in an office that involves 1 computer doing book keeping. This computer is not connected to the network, so its not on the internet, for security reasons.
What we'd like to do is have a laptop be networked to this computer wirelessly so we can send information to it. Is there a peice of network hardware that would allow us to do just this (I'm thinking a wireless hub?), and doesnt include the router bit.

Also, we are looking to have the laptop be able to print to a printer without being connected to it, so I'm looking for a wireless printing solution also.
My knowledge of print sharing goes to having a printer attached to a computer and sharing the printer which is then accessable to those within the workgroup.

The pc is a compaq, the laptop is a dell, and the printer will probably be an hp 3650.

You could throw a wireless card into the desktop system and setup an ad-hoc connection between it and the laptop. Then simply have the desktop computer as a default gateway for the laptop whilst the wireless link is up. This way it *should* get access to any printing devices the desktop system has access to.
