Hey again guys ordering my stuff today and have one last question.

If i want to use wireless in my house do i need to get a router and usb dongle? Ill be getting a laptop with sentrino so iw ant to be able to use the internet on my laptop through my main pc however i would like my pc to connect to the internet through my cabled modem without having to rely on wireless coneectivity. Is this possible? Or becuase im using other computers to connect to my main rig for the internet do i have to get a router?

Sorry if that doesnt make sense i aint great with networks. And what kits do you reccomend? D-link?

First, if you are going to have multiple computers connected to the net, I strongly reccomdend you get a router, if you have all the computers connecting to the net via your main pc, if this goes wrong is is shutdown the whole network goes down.

If you get a router, you probably want a wireless one (most have 4 wired connections too). You want a Belkin or Netgear router, they are the best companies. Avoid D-Link and Linksys (or the Linksys WAP54G at least).

Probably one of the best :)

Why are you getting a USB dongle too?

I would need the usb dongle for another computer. Im assuming that once the router is connected to my computer that thats my wire less done and i dont need a dongle?

    Thanks for your help

Not sure what you meant in the last post, basically how the setup would be:

    Internet connected to router
Main PC connected to router via wire (you need to purchase this on top unless the computer will be 2m from the router as you get a 2m cable free with the router)
Laptop connected to router wirelessly using inbuilt wireless
Other computer connected wirelessly using USB dongle

Yes, as MrWW said a router is highly great thing if you want to allow more computers to connect to it later on down the road. Just make sure you enable encryption.

For the router you could probaly get it cheaper if you just bought it without the wifi USB dongle and just used a wire to your computer.
