hey all sorry for double post, but its on a different LCD LCD Graphic display - 640 x 240 blue supertwist (passive/Mono) electro-luminance back light. Display uses a 10 pin card edge connector with .100" spacing - Size: 9-1/2"L x 2-3/4"H - Drivers: (6) LC7941, (2)LC7942 * No documentation with this item it comes with no documentation..... are these common screens, and im hoping that it can be hooked up to my pc? if so, how? i'll have a gander through the faq, but i kinda need a quick yes/no as im minutes away from ordering it!(its from a us site, and my mate over in the us is gna buy it for me and then ship it over to me) thanx all.
No controller onboard ? you will need a sed board to drive it. Henri will do you one if you ask nice http://www.skippari.net/lcd/ Results may not be great, sed corruption will creep in on animated screens , still images would look good though
dang it but its got those 6 lc7941 'drivers' and 2 lc7942 'drivers', and it 'uses a 10pin card edge connector', does that DEFINETLY mean that im gna need a seperate controller? its a b/w lcd by the way. was kinda hoping that those 10pins could somehow be linked up to say a serial or parallel interface so i could link it to my pc. anyone else? thanx all
uhm without the datasheet you're going nowhere. It's 99.9% for sure controllerless, if it's 4-bit LCD interface you can try the suggested SED board. So get the datasheet and you'll know what can be done with it, what do you want to do with it anyway?
would just be so that i could attach it to my pc, to show stats, and as its got such a nice large size, i was considering using it as actual screen on my mp3 box, just so that it shows me a winamp screen, doesnt have to act like a monitor as it were, just show me winamp stuff. ive found datasheets of the IC's, but not particularly helpfull. ive got 3 hours in which to decide, eek. should i just go with the seiko displays then? they use a HD44780 controller, seems to be quite common. thanx for quick replies!
