I have one of these which i wish to use as a reset switch on my Parvum. But I have not got a clue how to wire it up. One of the connections has a + sign and diagonally opposite is one with a - sign. At the moment I am only using the Power switch and HDD LED headers on the motherboard is it possible to use Power LED header to supply the necessary to the switch LED?
+ and - will be for the LED, I think the power LED header on the motherboard will give out 5v, in which case you need a 100ohm resistor to give 3.2v @ 20ma, which is about what a white LED wants. Wire the resistor to the + one and wire that one in turn to the + on the power LED header, then just wire the - to the - on the power LED header. the other 2 terminals you have, wire those to the reset switch header, doesn't matter which order, just one to each. Would be worth sticking a meter over the cables on the power LED header before you solder everything up as it might be 3.3v, but I would of thought it would be 5v.
If you got all the bits incl mobo header cables etc. you can ship it to me if you want and I can wire it up for you - always an option. Infact as it's screw terminals, only really need the mobo headers and wires, i would make one for you but I don't have any of those cables that push onto the headers.
If you could send the switch as well that would be great just so I can test it on my computer to make sure it works
I have a couple of spare front case wires a HDD LED and Power SW which I will send along with the vandal switch.
Nice, I'll sort it the night of when I get it and get it shipped back with your keycaps the following day.
