Not a problem for me, but rather for a friend of mine. For some reason, DVD's won't work on her PC, through Windows Media Player 10. From what she tells me, the DVD Drive recognises a disc is present, but simply chooses not to play them. If this is the case, then does anyone know how to fix it? Is there any particular drivers that need downloaded for it to work?

She has said she doesn't want to buy a copy of Power DVD (she doesn't have enough money for it, and yes I'm aware its extremely cheap). If, however, it is the other case of what I think it is, where the DVD Drive doesn't recognise a disc at all, then what needs done about it?

    Help needed quickly! Cheers!

try VLC -- plays everything, she may not have the needed DVD codecs for WMP etc.. (you get them when you install winDVD or w/e) but VLC has them too :D

Ah damn, just found out from her that the DVD drive doesn't recognise any discs at all. Any suggestions?
