Recently sorted my codec issues by removing all codecs, ad then reinstalling the Indeo codecs and the CCCP codec pack (with MPC).

Everything now works fine except WMV files, which play without sound in either MPC or ZOOM. However they do play with sound in VLC. I removed WMP from my copy of windows, is this the reason WMVs won't work correctly? Is there anyway to fix it?

    Thanks.

You could reinstall WMP and see if it fixes itself?

You can always uninstall it again if it doesnt.

I don't think any other players support WMV Audio so that is prolly why it won't work. Only the wonders of VLC work as they put in pretty much every codec known to man. Option are to use VLC for everything as it's a beast, or get WMP back or hunt for the WMV Audio codec. I personally use VLC for everything and WMP for WMV's, although i could just remove WMP :^)

I find VLC produces blotchey images for a little while if skipped ahead though...whereas zoom and mpc don't...always prefered using mpc personally. I'll have a look for a codec but might have to get used to vlc.
