    Woman flees 'crazed' chipmunk attack

    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/odd/a168064/woman-flees-crazed-chipmunk-attack.html

    Quote""

A US woman fled from a Siberian chipmunk and later claimed that the mammal attempted to injure her, it has emerged.

According to The Sun, 30-year-old Muriel Long ran to a neighbour's home in Washington DC after the animal tried to slash at her.

Long said: "It looked crazed. It meant to do me damage."

It has been claimed that a number of similar chipmunks are on the loose in Britain after 30 escaped from Wellington Country Park on the Hampshire-Berkshire border four years ago.

At the time, a spokeswoman for the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said: "Anything that enters into the English wild can upset the delicate ecosystem.

"They are wanted: dead or alive."

    Sounds like rabies to me.

We have a whole family of them right in our backyard and they will even grab peanuts out of your hand, no worries at all.

On the other hand, we shoot the s*** out of gray squirrels.

That last image looks more like a Colorado Prairie Dog than a Chipmunk. We call the little chipmunk things 'streakies' at the Denver Zoo. Very rapid rascals.

We're the opposite, we hate chipmunks and love gray squirrels

Check out my post #5 P Dogs where I live. Kinda anorexic looking but the muzzle is wrong for streaky

    john

Most of the prairie dogs around here - with the exception of the one's in a Westminster park closed for bubonic plague - are really chubby

Long day at the press I see.

Almost as good as the time when the news reported on Michelle Obama's new haircut.

If they are prairie dogs then i blame Google Image search and the fact that i'm a Brit as the closest we get to a chipmunk is called Alvin :D

That must be quite a wealthy man if he can afford to give some to a Chipmunk.
