Well the title says it all really If I go above the speed I am running now (12.5 x 175) it will boot correctly and I can get into windows OK and even run prime (I havent run it for long lengths while testing this out). However once I shut down ie power off, it wont POST when I start it again and then I have to power down again and wait for the BIOS to set safe values. Any Ideas Chaps ?
Never mind eh TBH if it was only me using the PC I could live with it, it just the wife uses it as well and if she has to shutdown while I'm at work Maybe I should train here in the ways of overclocking, do ya think the hardware would respond better to a womans touch ?
Haha, I feel for ya buddy I love my wife to bits but get her near a computer and the common sence starts dripping out of her ears .... you can see it on her face Isnt it in an HTPC though (i followed a link to your site, might have been in the for sale foum, and looked at your index.htm page)? Just drop the FSB a little ... i doubt youd notice.
My current system is in my sig, but I have built several projects. It was the router project I sold a while ago. Its stable and shutdownable (I just made that work up lol) at 12.5 x 175, just if I go any higher i get the shutdown/bootup problems. It may be interesting to note that 12.5 x 180 was fine until I did the L2 cache mod. I must admit my wife is pritty good with PC's athough she doesnt really 'get' overclocking and modding
