Hi all I have a problem with installing windows on my newly built PC. To see the current status of where i am please check the link and follow the posts, i appreciate you taking time to help me. http://forums.ebuyer.com/showthread.php?t=8962
Until you can get the CDrom as your primary boot, your stuck as far as I'm aware. Which motherboard do you have?
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4, Pressing F12 shows me Boot Sequence and CDROM is not at the top, the only thing i can do on there is move down to it and press enter. Even if i dont do that it will still attempt CDROM boot, but just fails each time.
I'm not familiar with that motherboard, but my Intel 965 chipset motherboard cannot boot from IDE devices. SATA devices work natively and IDE drives need the special drivers to be used. So it needs a SATA HDD and SATA CD drive (or IDE with SATA converter). Could this be your issue?
Pft, Timelords. Great at saving planet earth, rubbish with computers Anyway, what EXACTLY are your system specs? From that eBuyer thread, I'm confused. Are you using an SATA HD and an SATA CD-Rom drive? Or, not?
Hi lol, well earth technology is nothing compared to gallifrey , Thanks for your help every one, i obtained a new CD today and it loaded fine.
