Your errors are scored as minors or serious. Your alowed around 15 or 16 minors, i cant rember exactly how many as I only ever had around 6 each time and never worried about that. But you are not alowed to get any serious if you want to pass. Touching the kerb gets marked as a serious there equals fail.
if you HIT the curb, yeah. their reasoning is that a pedestrian may have been standing there (erm, you can see people in your mirror, you can't see the curb!) you can correct if you realise you are going to hit it, that's just counted as a minor. also, 'gratz, veles.
Congratulations. I messed up my reversing round a corner, went way too wide. Instructor let me try again, did it fine and also parallel parked perfectly (despite after passing my test I've had to parallel park about 4 times in 3 years). Never been so nervous!
congrats man. one question for you brit's or any other non Canadians. Do you have a graduated licensing system (just wondering) because for me to get my full license it took me a little under 3 years since it's a graduated system here in Ontario (the province in which i live). 1st level - G1 2nd Level - G2 (you have to wait 8 months to 1 year before you can attempt) Final level - G (you have to wait 1 year before you can attempt) oh and once you get your G1 you have 5 years to get your G if it expires you go back to a G1 (no BAL, night or highway driving)
Congrats lads. Driving is great, even if it can stress you to tears at moments. I passed first time, but I was seriously on the ball that day Got my manoeuvres better than I had ever got them. The examiner and I were talking about the world cup which was a great way to relax. @lcdguy, you apply for a provisional licence, this allows you to learn to drive either with an instructor or with another person who has been driving for 3 or 5 years (I can't remember which and probably over a certain age)*, you then have to take your theory test which will probably be about 3/4 of the way through your lessons and then you can take your practical. The instructor will usually insist that you have a good amount of lessons before you can take your test, but in reality you can take it at your own pace and do it as fast or slow as you like, providing you and your instructor think you are ready. *You may need to have x amount of lessons with a qualified driving instructor now, I am not sure. I do not know as I do not need to know.
* Unless it's changed, it's over 21, with three years of experience, and insured on the car that the pupil is using, along with the pupil RwD
Congrats on passing I passed my first time but had some points taken off. I did a curb-check on the way going out of the lot and I made one wide and one short turn because I was driving a unfamiliar vehicle
Tanks guys Strangely enough I was also dehydrated with a headache after mine too I believe in some circumstances if you correct the mistake and it's a very light touch of the curb some examiners might let it off as a minor. No requirement for lessons with an ADI yet, TBH I think they should and make the test a little less harsh, it's getting worse and worse.
