its been a while since an update.... anyways, its starting to come together...

Right now the sides are beign held together by masking tape, so bear with me here...

This is just an image of the front of the case. all the holes on the right are for my 12v/7v switches, LED's and reset/power switch. the big hole in the middle of the bottom is for the louvers (grill type thing). the hole in the mid top is for my LCD screen. The middle section will be hinged for access to the drives.

This is just the left side without the plexi window and unopened.

Here is the left side with the door opened
    [IMG]

Just the back, still needs everything to be cut out of it, the hole for the PCI/AGP slots, hole for 120mm fan, cutou for PSU and a hole for a 80mm fan above the psu
    [IMG]

This is the trim that will go on top of the case, a piece of plywood will be sitting in the rectangular slot thingy flush.

This is two pics of the trim that will go on the bottom, it has a chamfered edge and the case will be sitting inside the rectangular slot thingy. neither of these pics is very good...

Nice! It looks great. The black interior looks nice through the window too. So whats going on with the front? Any sort of old style gauges or things like that? I like it!

there will be4 12v/7v toggle switches for some louder fans of mine, each of them will have an green LED that will light up when its set to 12V and turn off when its at 7V. the power switch is just some switch from radio shack, square shaped, red button, black holder. the reset switch is just a smaller version of the power button but its round... hope that answered your question

oh, and the power LED will be a superbright blue LED and the HDD will be a white LED.

small update, been working on the louvers recently, but its slow work because I can only glue on 1 or 2 at a time and then i have to let the glue dry before I put on another one. The bottom louver is 1/4" from the bottom and they are spaced 3/8" apart. looking good so far....

This picture is photoshopped to show what the final thing should kinda look like..

    Excellent work there.

Is the wood basically surrounding the case with the side panels off?

Good work, I'm looking forward to see the final result. :D

About the final finish of the woodwork, why not check out gunstock (right word?) oil? You can get lotsa different types, and with color added, like red oil. That could give a really nice highlight to the "pattern" of the wood.. :) Yes I own a gun. Hehe
Anyway, keep up the woo.. I mean good work! :D

The vent work is nice. They fit perfectly with the general feel of the case, too. Looks like they give nice air flow as well. Nice work!

    update time!!

as promised (altho a little late) here is the text

The final satge of glueing on the louvers, using a light to hold one of the stubborn ones in place.

The backboard, all cut out and sanded

I put the case together again using masking tape to see wha tit would look like before I glued it. Looks great....

The left side all finshed sans the plexi window

just a closeup of the hinges used on the door.

the left side yet again but with the plexi sitting in it with its plastic covering still on

The front of the case held together by masking tape, also fitted the LCD screen to see how that would look.

    Being glued! massive clampage.

Good Job its Coming along Really Awesome. Your not leaving the Black case inside the Wooden Case are you or is it just so u can even stuff out? Cause i dont think the Black case inside the wooden one would look that great
