    Hi guys, update on tests with the lower shelf completed.. some spacers will be added to the lower part to facilitate the air flow.

    In the meantime, the new be quiet ìLIGHT WINGS LX fans have arrived which will replace the original ones in the case

    and also the heat sinks for the SSDs... but we'll see them in detail later

    This panel is used to cover the holes for the 3.5" hard drive bays.

    these 3 panels will have to fit together perfectly..

    as usual I complicated my life, I'm fine with that... :)

    I help myself with precision chisels.

    these panels will need to be further worked on with the addition of blind ventilation holes, perhaps with parts in aluminium which I haven't decided yet...

    Very nice project, it'll be gorgeous with the wood accents.

    Might I suggest a shinto rasp from Amazon (not expensive and beats the rasp easily). And maybe thread inserts made for wood if they're not too bulky. Those inserts made for plastic/3D-printed parts might work well with glue if clearaces are at a premium :thumb:

    his is the project for the processing of the front and top panel once the dimensions have been established, I print on adhesive paper and apply it to the piece, in this way I have the mathematical certainty that everything will come out exactly as planned.

    these holes, besides being decorative, have an optimal airflow. I remember that this Be Quiet case, which I love, has dust filters everywhere. I was pleasantly surprised.

    Nice work, looks pretty much on the dot symmetric.

    I also use those step drillbits on the regular, because "normal" drillbits tend to create somewhat triangular hole if you're not careful with how you use them.

    Hi guys, more photos of the case view with the front and rear panel finished, the panels, even if well sanded, still need to be finished with linseed oil

    I had completed the psu cover panel but it still needs other attention, it must be raised a little to favor the airflow with the lower psu components and hard drives. I had inserted some pins in conjunction with holes already present in the case this to position the panel that otherwise would have danced inside the cabinet, I also add some magnets, even if small they are very powerful they screw on the piece, in this way the panel is raised as much as needed for the airflow.

    this way the magnets keep it anchored to the case and it doesn't move. Test on a steel ruler.

    Now it's time to take the right bulkhead that I had previously cut. Once the graphics have been studied always with the procedure used for the front panel, that is, design on PC, print on adhesive paper and then apply it to the piece.

    I wanted to use a three-dimensional effect, I drilled holes of different diameters to create this illusion.

    Here too I apply magnets, unlike the internal panel I apply them at the level of the panel, I make holes, I fix them with vinavil glue, once dry it is hard as cement. In this way the boards are applied to the bulkhead without using holes.

    hello guys here I am again with further developments, in this step I will share with you the processing of the external panel that will cover the right bulkhead. These are the various sketches and ideas..

    I have to take into account my manual skills, not having the possibility of using CNC or laser cutting even on behalf of third parties given the high costs, I evaluate some ideas, this will be a 0.8 mm aluminum plate that will be positioned on the central part of the wooden panel, I chose aluminum for 2 reasons, 1 easy and manual processing and lightness. chosen the graphics.

    simulates a sort of elaborate grid with a central logo I design the panel with Adobe Illustrator with exact measurements and then print it on adhesive paper and apply it to the piece

    after applying 6mm holes, do some electric fretwork..

    a long and boring job but which I hope will give satisfactory results in the end

    obviously it's all a bit imprecise and will need to be fixed with precision

    but slowly... I don't want a shiny effect but a bit rough, I use 400 sandpaper and water..

    I feel your pain with the filing since I'm doing the same here. A sandwich of aluminum and acrylic no less and it's not fun (and I still have polishing the aluminum and the edges of the acrylic to look forward to) :hehe:

    Your parts turned out great though and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one struggling without a CNC router or something along those lines. Keep it coming :thumb:

    it's time to finish the wood, I use cooked linseed oil which, in addition to protecting, highlights all the grain of the wood, darkening it a little.

    Outstanding craftsmanship as usual :clap: I'm trying to work with hand tools on aluminum for a long time with many disappointing results, I admire your work and skills :dremel::rock:

    Awesome coverplates, like always. -Just this time in wood. :D
    The original aluminum center logo was tricky enough to cut and file. You went back and made it even more delicate. :lol:

    Hi guys, I'm making the support bracket for the inno3d 4070 super. I'll take a piece of aluminum recovered from unio scrap, thickness 1 mm.

    That part is giving me flashbacks to when I designed MNPCTech's support brackets. :lol:

    ...It brought in 80% of our new content. :(

    All this to complete my workstation.. let's go basic preparation

    the lower base is screwed and with the addition of vinyl glue to the central pillar.

    Preparation of the headphone stand, I took the correct curvature from the headphones, I glued 3 pieces of wood with vinyl glue and held them together with clamps for 4 hours, the result is a single block of wood that once worked you can't even see the joints

    Gluing and fixing to the second base which will in turn be fixed to the central base.

    I had this piece of aluminum left over, it was part of a Sharkoon case that I modded thicker than 1mm.

    Paint is hard to remove, paint stripper makes it quicker...

    Sandpaper 180 then 240 then 400 and finally 800 with water.

    I added the tip to the base with another piece of leftover wood. To make the lines straight and at the right distance from each other I use a guide.

    Fixed everything this is the central bracket.

    I fix the base in aluminum.

    I get another piece of aluminum to cover the fixing screws on the back and give more prominence to the structure, this is the result I hope you like it...
