Well it's about dam time that AMD released their 333FSB processor, it's the XP2800+ running at 2.25 GHz. They also tested it on an nForce 2 board. benchmarks and results are VERY good. Intel better be careful now. I think I see my next CPU and mobo right now. AMD 333FSB CPU
Hey DJMyst, would our SOYO Dragon Ultras support that kind of processor?...I know it supports up to 2600+ as of now.
Probably not as the Soyo Dragon Ultra boards don't have the 1/5 PCI divider to keep everything else running in spec. I have read on AMD Forums that someone asked Soyo about it and they are claiming that it would take alot of development work and the mobo doesn't have the correct hardware to support it anyway. I think Soyo is full of s***, but if they don't release the proper dividers, then the Dragon Ultra KT333 would theoretically not be able to support a 333FSB processor. Now wether or not it might work is another story, but there is still no official word from Soyo about it.
I work at AMD and got the test the very first one of these out. I have not done testing on the Soyo, but the Nvidia was insainly fast. (I own a origonal dragon and love it, but may convert to Nvidia)
No But still I get to play with them! (Playing/Working on K8 Now) P.S. I will not disclose confidential info.
i badly need to know if this 2800+ is gonna work on my EpoX 8k3a+ at 333fsb - im expecting there to be a few bios flashes...but i have seen the XP2800+ actually on sale at www.addons.co.uk i know they ship them over they also were about the first ppl oin the UK ot be selling the 2400+ and the 2600+ too. Me is at Uni tho... and they are like... Me = in library doing stuff im not supposed to be... seeing how long before im banned from the uni network....
does www.addons.co.uk actually have the amd athlon xp 2600+ in stock for sale, or is it like the other sites, where they take orders to ship the processors when they arrive ? If they actually have it in stock then
