I just got my new Sony CPD-G420S and I LOVE IT!!!! Gonna take some getting used to though cause the dam thing is HUGE!! I can't believe how good it looks though. I can now understand why I spent $400 on this monitor. OK, back to games. :D:D:D:D

Oh most definitely. It's nice to have everything running at 1280x1024 @ 85Hz now. :D:D The games and everything look SOOOO good on this monitor. It's like a whole new PC. I am VERY glad that I waited and saved and got the Sony instead of another one too. The aperture grill lines aren't even noticeable either. I didn't even see them until I actually looked. hehehehe Now my new rig complete. (cept for some 5.1 speakers)

    Ermmm...

    Couple of points...

First, at 1280x1024, you can achieve 100Hz easily.

Second, 1280x1024 is a very bad resolution to use. The monitor is 4:3 in aspect ratio (width:height). However, 1280x1024 is 5:4, so pixels become rectangular, so objects which should be square become rectangles, and everything looks a little off. 1280x960 is a better resolution as this is 4:3.

1600x1200 is entirely usable on the G420 (at 85Hz)...my brother has one, and it's fine in that res. What we need really is an intermediate resolution, like 1400x1050. You may be able to set a custom resolution like this in powerstrip. You might also be able to achieve 100Hz in this res (thinking about it, you should be able to).
