Well the day finally got here and I ordered the last pieces for my new rig. I ordered all the parts from www.newegg.com and they should be here by next Tuesday. Parts ordered: Soyo Dragon Ultra Mobo (tha black one) AMD XP 2100+ Mushkin 512MB PC2100 CAS2-2-2 PNY Verto Geforce4 Ti4400 Swiftech MCX462 Vantec Tornado fan for heatsink Arctic Silver 3 I can't wait 5 days for it!!! It's killing me!!!
I REEEEAAAAALLLYYYY hope so. I read the www.amdmb.com review of this board and they had almost the same setup but they used the MSI GF4 Ti4400 and an XP2000+. The 3D Mark 2001 score was 10399 though. I hope I at least break 10K.
You will get over 10k, I got over 10k with my Athlon at 1.414Ghz and that same PNY verto card. I currently have just about 10100 3dmarks but thats because I backed the OC on the vid card down a little because I dont really need all that power, but my highest so far was, uh, the number in my sig, I cant remember off hand. Looks like a great system, have fun when it gets too you.
Well that makes me feel better that I've selected the right components to have a good rig that'll last me for at least a year or so. Or at least until the NV30 and the 333FSB AMD is out. The waiting sucks!!!! But I've been w/o for this long I guess I can wait 3-4 more days.:dude:
Hell yes I am!!! Plus I already have all the other parts except for what I just ordered and I dam sure wasn't going to list the old Celery 366 and GF2 MX rig that I am currently using. About the only thing it does is run Quake III, Half-Life, and UnReal. Not very well at that I might add too. My lil bro is gettin the rig I currently have though b/c he just wants to play those 3 games and d/l music so it's perfect for him. I might get him an XP 1600+, new mobo, and 512MB of memory for Christmas though. :dude:
It should break 10.. expecially if you overclock everything slightly. Im running an athlon xp 2100+ which runs at 1893 mhz or something liek that with the FSB bumped up to 145.. i have 1024 mb ddr333 ram with 2-2-2 timing from ocsystem.com a gigabyte ga-7vrxp mobo, swiftech MCX462 heatsync with the vantec tornado 80mm 80 cfm fan and an asus geforce 4 ti 4600 ultra deluxe graphics board.. my system sounds fairly similar to yours.. with the system as i say up there i get about 11,200 in 3dmark2001.. when i overclock my videocard to 320/670 i get around 12,800.. its pretty sweet.. hope you enjoy your new rig.. i know im enjoying mine.. the only thing that sucks is theres so much new crap i contantly want to try on it/benchmark etc that im always getting side tracked.. I want to make a custom keypad for my matrix orbital LK-204-25-PC and also custom mount it in my 3 1/2 bay inserts.. but im still busy playing around with my new hardware to devote my time to something like that
Dam I would love to get 11K. I just checked the FedEx site and it's here in Greenville so it should be delivered tomm morning. I've already planned to take off Thursday and Friday of this week so I can get it tweaked and running exactly how I want it to. I'll definitely post scores/temps/etc when I get it all up and running tomm night though.
Sweet!! i remember when i got my new rig i was SOOO excited!! I couldnt take time off of work though so i just stayed up for a week straight! hehe.. i had some probs with my PSU though.. hopefully your new rig will fall together and run as smooth as a babys behind thats just been lathered with baby oil!
WOOHOO!!!!! Parts are here!!!!! Everything looks to be in good shape so I hope it all falls in place when I get home tonight. I just hooked up the Vantec tornado fan and it sounds like a dam hairdryer!! Ah well, the CPU will be cool. Benchmarks/temps/etc to follow hopefully tomm. :dude:
