    Getting insurance was fun.

I talked to my broker and he came up with a quote of around 700-800 quid!!!!! :eeek: This is with my old insurer of Zurich - who quoted me around £457 for the renewal on my old car. Even with a 4 years No Claims bonus (which should've been dropped by Zurich to at least 2 years, as I claimed last year, but I think they ballsed it up [and who am I to complain?]).

So I looked online for a better deal: Admiral - £575, Elephant - £498... then I tried Churchill - £388 Erm... yes please!

I've just sent off my renewal form from Zurich to Churchill to prove my 4 years No Claims which I hope they will accept even though it should be 2 theoretically, cos that price cannot be beat! :D

I wish it were real, but unfortunately it's not. Just a bit of choppage.
I've only driven it back the distance from the garage to home, so I'm not really used to its handling yet, but it seems pretty good. It's got power steering which my old car doesn't have so that's something else I need to get used to.

I got my Punto in 1996, and power steering wasn't standard.

Took it out for a spin today, down the motorway... hit 100MPH (the manual says the top speed is 111)... my Punto could only manage that going downhill! There's still some power left in the MG, but I didn't want to push it, not when I'm still getting used to it all.

    Nice car - enjoy it.

111mph? You'll get more than out of it. I got 120+ out of my Mum's old '94 Rover 414Si which has the same engine and no aerodynamics. :)

Of course, that 120mph was done on my own personal piece of motorway. ;)

Your insurance at £700 is incredibly cheap - try living in N. Ireland. My insurance is £800, I had 10 years NCB and am 27, and driving a Vauxhall Astra (group 4 insurance). I had a bump this year, so I'm probably looking at £1k for insurance this coming year.
