    £405 actually ;)

BTW, for those interested my car has a 1.4 litre engine with 103BHP - the Punto is a 1.1 and only 55BHP.

OT Question: what exactly do the "insurance groups" mean? I think the MG I have is group 7, but wtf does that actually mean?

This page is very good at explaining insurance groups:

    http://www.abi.org.uk/carinsurance/help.asp

Basically, it depends on how safe the car is, how much parts cost, how good the anti-theft systems are, and how likely the car is to be nicked.

It's more modern, so safer in an accident, easier to fix when bent, and more difficult to steal.

The old Rover 200/400 cars are simple to steal - they have no immobiliser as standard, and the central locking is simple to bypass using a plug in the wiring loom which is accessible under the plastic inner wheel arch on the driver's front wheel. They're also not terribly safe - airbags aren't standard, the seats tend to rip off the rails in accidents, and the passenger cell isn't rigid so doors either don't open or fly open in an accident.

Did anybody catch Rich Hall on Top Gear last night, with his impromtu song on the Rover 25 (Which is what Quack's car used to be called: Rover 200 -> Rover 25 -> Rover ZR)

"It's a Rover - Their drivers seem to be older" etc. etc. etc.

    Nice car Quack. ;)
