Without the Brits existence, you would not have America at all. It would for sure eventually be conquer by a different country, but it won't be the Brits... as well.. they don't exists in that imaginary situation, and the history that pass after that event would be completely different. Not to mention Canada existence.

So, you have to be grateful at some level of the Brits, despite the.... thought times/dispute/disagreement times... shall we say.

Even today there is much hatred for the Brits in the US. When walking together with friends one youth will shout "Bow to the king!" and hit another in the balls. This is because of the assocation between you guys and a pain in the nuts.

Or it's because kids are stupid... one of the two :D

    Happy Indepencence Day.

(Although you could say Merry Independence Day to mess with people like I say Happy Christmas)

    Hehe I do, too.
They are like "Thanks... oh wait.... huh?!". I love to see their lost reaction :D

Well Happy Independence Day to all U.S citizens. :)

FLMAO *cough* *gasp* Uh oh yes, definately, this is TOTALLY true you Brits, trust us. When you're over here NEVER say "Bow to the king" :) Homeland Security will likely round you up and put you in Brit prison where you will only be served French food and Coors beer for the duration of your term.

We should have made the date flexible. If you have sun - celebrate. If you are singing in the rain like in Denver - pick another day.

It might have been a mistake. We could rejoin as a Colony. We could get their health care, they could get our lower tax rates, AND we could get some cool cars instead of bankrupt manufacturers and the UK can get big SUVs and pickup trucks.

Of course I don't think an F650 4x4 would fit on Downing St. too well.

    john

    Happy 4th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John, yeah, given the idiocy displayed by both the California legislature currently and the federal legislature frequently, I do find myself wishing for a system of parliament on a regular basis. We'd get fresher stout as well. The lack of guns would bother me though...

Does it say much that my first thoughts on reading the title of this thread were that the world was being invaded by aliens and the white house was being blown up?

And it was a damn waste of tea in Boston :miffed:

Merry independence day all the same!

Just celebrated my independence by lighting off some fireworks, eating chili-cheese dogs, smores, and squeezing off a few rounds from the .22.

As a Brit, if I was in the U.S on July 4th, I too would be celebrating with you. We Brits love any excuse for a party. Getting drunk, throwing up and making complete arses (asses for our American brethren) of ourselves is a classic British past time. How we love to damage our livers here. Haven't you worked out what we're about yet?:D
Life is for living so lets get on with it.
