What's Easter? /Taiwan. In fact there is more about the British Royal wedding than a day celebrated by a billion Christians. I come to the other side of the world and I still cant ****ing get away from it I wish them all the best in life but honestly I fail to see why I should give a **** about two very life-secure people I've never met.
One of our managers here is from England. We're torturing him to no end with the royal wedding. I believe some folks in his building are arranging a high tea.
I would've worked Sunday, only our store was closed. Love bank holiday premium-rate pay. Working all over that bloody Royal wedding too. Woo!
I just don't work weekends full stop. Working set ours in an office, programming and being the general IT guy has its benefits I guess. Also Sunday was my birthday, so there was no chance I was working.
We work every day of every year. We work even when the Postal Service has shut down. Roads shut down due to snow or flooding? We keep on working. State of emergency? We're still there. We tromp through snow, ice, and mud. Freeze in the Winter until you can't feel your hands anymore. Sweat in the Summer to the point where you can't sweat anymore. We cling to utility poles by nothing more then a couple small, metal spikes and a belt in blizzard conditions. Easter? Christmas? Independence day? Those are just work days to us. We may have it bad but other have it worse. At least we have jobs. Quit your bitching and go back to work.
