    Hi Guys!

I've just built a new rig! But can't for the life of me work out why it won't output any image!

It all turns on and powers up, but there is no image displayed.

Also - when I put the graphics card in the top PCIE slot it powers on for one second, then off again, then on, then off etc etc.

The 6 CPU phase lights are all illuminated if that helps (I have no idea what that means) - Also does anyone know if I am supposed to use the 4 or 8 pin PSU CPU power lead?

    The Specs are

    MSI GD-65 Mobo
    I5 750 CPU
    XFX 4890 GPU
    4GB DDR3 Patriot RAM
    Samsung F3 HDD
    Corsair H50 CPU cooler.

Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Would pictures be of any use? I can upload some if need be!

Have you got the power cables plugged into the Graphics card?

    Hi there guys!

Yes, certainly got those power cords plugged into the 4890. 2 x 4 Pins that run straight from the PSU to the GPU.

The PSU is an OCZ Mod X Stream 600w

There is a large power cable plugged into the Mobo on the top left hand side, about two inches long. Additionally I have an 8pin power cable plugged in to power the CPU.

Im totally stumped... I hope its something I'm doing wrong, otherwise I am going to have to individually RMA parts until I discover whats up!

Have you tried reseating your GPU in your motherboard? Also do you have any spare GPU's laying around that you could test to see if you get picture by using a different card? I think I'd be right in guessing that this would be your first build so if not do you know anyone with a spare GPU you could borrow to troubleshoot?

It can't be lack of power because your PSU can easily handle your system unless it was a dud.

a hd4890 will use 2x6 pin connectors - the 4pin connectors are for extra AUX power for the MB/CPU.
