I have a woodshop with a few woodworking tools... a tablesaw, miter saw, few routers, drillpress, so on... i use them to make wood cabinets and more creations. Im just wondering if i can use these tools to cut plexi glass. Can i use my tablesaw for that? Do i need a different blade? whats the best way to cut plexi with general woodworking tools? thx

A table saw, fitted with a blade with as many teeth as possible works nicely, I still prefer to use a router though, you get more control and can cut shapes.

My best advice is to cut it slowly with the tool speed as fast as you can get it, a 25Krpm router removes the waste before it has a chance to melt :hip:

yah same thing with the router they do make plexi cutting bits, or you can modify wood cutting ones of the top of my head. I can't find it now but on the website on one of the big plexi manufacturers they had pdf's with every conceivable bit of information regarding their plexi, up to feed rates and cutting tooth travel per minute.

yer table saw with a fine tooth blade

if you cut it while still in the cardboard it came in it won't chip
