I get some crazy ideas sometimes and unfortunately I dont have the skills needed to pull all of them off. So I got thinking, what can modders do to make some sort of difference? How can multiple skill sets be applied to one case and how can it all be for the greater good? The answer? A compilation project that takes contributions from mutliple bit-tech modders to create a single project. The final result can be auctioned off either here or Ebay, with the moola going to charity. So if we.... 1. All agreed on a basic design that takes advantage of the unique skills each modder has 2. Decide on exactly what will be contributed by each modder 3. Produce all the needed parts and components, working off the same plans 4. Send them all to bit-tech or a modder near bit-tech for assembly 5. Have the project put up online for auction. I havent approached anyone about this but it would be a really great way to create something special whilst contributing to charity. Anyone interested?
The google wave case was kinda like this, but failed just because it was so hard to keep everyone talking. Everyone was busy doing their own cases. If you contact some "pro modders" and write them a nice letter asking them to do a specific piece of case then they may be happy to oblige, its for charity and all.
Yeah, If one person devises the plans and then asks certain people to manufacture the pieces it would be allot easier than a collaborative design.
I was planning to do this a few months ago with just people in the UK but it failed! Mostly because everyone has different time commitments and money restrictions etc, then there is postage costs....
