Okay, I've got a AMD64 San Diego & Gainward 7800GT on the way. Which motherboard should I get?
I'm leaning towards the DFI SLI-D but several other members have been having some unusual stability issues. How does the Asus A8N SLI compare for stable overclocks? I'm getting 2x1GB Ballistix PC4000 from Overclockers too, is that a problem for DFI boards?

Ballistix tends to work just fine on the DFI Nforce 4 SLI-D. If youre really worried about stability, see if you can get an Asus A8N32 SLI Deluxe; super stable, passively cooled, and essentially as overclockable as the DFI.

The DFI appears to be fine with Ballistix.
You could try a Epox EP-9NPA+ Ultra, they overclock well (not far from DFIs), and come in SLI favours if you need that.
Its the board i'm after this week :)
