I keep having my hard drive filled up with something and I have no idea what. I get a low disk space warning so I cleared around 3gigs last night. I just got home from college and I have less than 200KB spare, this keeps happening. Is there any chance some hacker is using me as a storage for files? if so, how can I find out and stop it?
will do, but in the meantime is there anyway of monitoring when this data is being transfered and where it's being saved?
yeah, I guess i could ctrl+alt+delete and look at network monitoring but that doesn't tell me where it's being stored :-\
http://www.chem.wisc.edu/~network/firewall/firewall.htm For a start, do that. Search for files that have beendified/created in the lasts x days and have a look...
I second DeX.. http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/utilities.shtml you can get filemon there.. they have some usefull freeware.. there is regmon also that monitors all hits to the registry.. -scoob8000
and / or check your virtual memory settings. windows might be using up most of your HDD with its pagefile.
